All trips and short paddles include some instruction as needed (or wanted) by the group or individual. MaineGuiding offers courses and instruction to suit the interests of those seeking to learn or develop specific skills. Some of these skills are listed below. Educational outings for groups can range in length and skill instruction to suit age, ability level and interest. For interests in more specific fields, MaineGuiding may seek an additional instructor (such as a birder, naturalist or local historian) while safely guiding the group and catering to other aspects of the experience. The Guide, Dan, is a Maine native with friends from many walks of life allowing versatile opportunities in wilderness education.
